Guild Wars is an episodic series of multiplayer online role-playing games created by ArenaNet, a Seattle game development studio. A MMO designed by several team members from Blizzard's StarCraft, Warcraft, Diablo and the Battle.net gaming network. Unique to Guild Wars is a skill-based gameplay system, a social world with each quest spawned uniquely for you and your group, and online play run through a special ArenaNet system to provide absolutely free MMO gameplay.

Welcome to Guild Wars! After your account is set up and ready to go, you'll get to create your first character. You'll be presented with a choice for Player vs. Player (PvP Only) or Player vs. Environment (PvE). PvP characters start out at max level with appropriate equipment, but the only skills available to you at this point are the pre-made builds.
